点评：This beach is exactly what its name suggests: a long stretch of coastline.
It is neither ugly nor dirty, but it is not particularly spectacular either.
You can get there by car or by bus from Ierapetra (there are several bus stops along the way, but it’s a good idea to check the map before deciding where to get off, as in some places the road moves away from the shore and the walk to the beach can be quite long and not very pleasant).
Here and there, there are bars and restaurants that have leased small sections of the beach, but over 90% of it remains free.
You will not find sand here, only small pebbles (not very uncomfortable for those who want to lay down a beach towel, but rather tiring for those who want to walk along the shore). Beach shoes are, unfortunately, a necessity.
If you don’t plan to rent sun loungers in the private areas, it’s a good idea to bring your own umbrella, as it can be quite a long walk from the line of shrubs (where there is some shade) to the water.
The water is clear but becomes deep very quickly (just a few meters from the shore, it is already over two-three meters deep); it’s not a suitable place for those who cannot swim, especially since there are no lifeguards in the free areas.
In general, the water is quite calm and suitable for swimming, but on windy days the waves can become quite large.
There are a few watersports centers along the beach (including parasailing), and towards the end, near the Mare Blue Hotel, the underwater landscape becomes more interesting for snorkeling enthusiasts.
In conclusion, it’s a beach best suited for those who can swim and are looking for a quiet place, away from the usual seaside crowds.
