点评:Visited the Ayodhya Hill & Forest Reserve Area on a road trip from Jamshedpur by self-driven car, it took around 2 and half hours’ drive through reasonably good road barring few kilometers of village roads. The road has multiple bumps, where one needs to be extra careful. During onward journey, we took a wrong turn which led to travel through narrow village roads with couple of unlikeable instances, however villagers were really helpful during such situations. During return, we took the right path with the help of Google map through Baghmundi-Balarampur road, where drive was smooth.
The Hill has pleasant scenic beauty, especially in monsoon , when it was green all around. The hill roads are well maintained, which provided a smooth drive. Though there were directions on the road, however more prominent directions of the attraction spots may be helpful for the first-time tourists. We visited Upper and Lower dam, Bamni Falls, Marble lake and Turga falls. One has to climb down 632 steps (as per security guard) to reach at the bottom of the Bamni falls, however after around 100 odd steps, the steps are not well maintained, moreover it is also tedious to climb down and up. We climbed down up to the level where steps are reasonably maintained and could see the narrow stream of waterfalls. It was nice but tiring climb down and up through green forest. The entry to the falls is allowed till 4.30 pm. The upper and lower dam are situated at roadside and can be reached by vehicles. Marble lake is a small lake surrounded by small hills, the place provides a lovely view. One has to walk down a small distance through rocky path from parking to the lake, small shops / stalls, selling souvenir items, tea & snacks etc., are available at the site. We had seen Turga falls from the roadside and skipped Muruguma dam, basis advice of a fellow traveler. As we night stayed on the hill, hence explored the places at leisurely speed. Overall, a nice time spent amidst the nature.
