I’d still say go somewhere else…..
Hollybush Garden Centre的点评
点评：It has now been just 12 months since we submitted a review of just how bad the Hollybush upstairs restaurant had become. At the time we were not alone and the new management team were commenting to reassure people that given time all would be ok. Visited at the weekend and trust me, it isn’t.
We have actually been twice recently, the first time for breakfast. This used to be the best around but following the changes is now an also ran. They have introduced a smaller plate which is basically the old format and also offer a larger version. However in the old menu this included unlimited drinks which has now been dropped whilst the price has increased. Whilst listening to a conversation on the next table we also realised that we missed out on free drinks. Users of their app have an offer currently for free drinks with every breakfast. We didn’t know about that until too late. Why not tell people ?.
Most recently we ducked in for a quick coffee and cake. This was a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy as expected. As they had special festive drinks we decided to go for the coffee with baileys which were pretty cold, so much so that we had to drink them straight away. Our cakes were ok, but certainly not worth the £5.10 each price tag. The cakes offered are huge and offer maybe 20 portions so that’s just over £100 of sale from one cake !. Our bill was over £22.00 which is on a par with high end city centre dessert places, not garden centre cafes which is what Hollybush is.
As I said in my review last Christmas, we have been customers for 30 years or so. We will think very carefully before visiting again. Management also seem to have stopped making comment. Wonder why ?.

最近一次，我们进去快速喝了杯咖啡，吃了块蛋糕。那天是周六下午，不出所料，餐厅里人很多。因为他们有节日特饮，我们点了加百利甜酒的咖啡，结果咖啡冰凉得我们不得不马上喝掉。蛋糕味道还可以，但绝对不值每个5.10英镑。他们家的蛋糕个头很大，大概能分20份，也就是说一个蛋糕就要卖100多英镑！我们结账花了22英镑多，这价格跟市中心高档甜品店差不多，而不是像Hollybush这种花园中心咖啡馆。
正如我去年圣诞节的评论里说的，我们已经是这家店30多年的老顾客了。下次再来之前，我们会好好考虑一下。而且，管理层似乎也不再发表任何评论了。真不知道为什么？
