点评:It’s not quite as spectacular as people like to claim (though, to be fair, most of those people either have a business to promote in the area or are Romanians with an exaggerated sense of patriotism).
For us (I mean, Romanians), the historic center of Brașov is indeed a must see tourist attraction. For a foreigner... let’s be honest - traveling hundreds or even thousands of kilometers just to admire some old buildings that are rarely as impressive as their Western European counterparts might not be the wisest use of your vacation days.
That said, if you’ve already made it this far, don’t linger too long in the center. After checking off the two or three must-sees (the Black Church and the Council House, for instance) and grabbing a bite (though beware: many restaurants charge "tourist prices" while serving food that’s anything but traditionally Romanian), head towards the medieval fortifications at the foot of Mount Tampa.
Even if they’re not particularly well preserved and most interiors are closed to the public, they’re still far more interesting than the overrated “attractions” you’ll find in the historic center.
