点评:I was looking forward to the Wednesday Culinary Market to get some fresh produce. Results were underwhelming and prices high. The whole thing is cute, but the quality of some fruit, I had chance to sample, was lacking. Also mangos were offered, which are not in season, and was told by a local, that they were probably coming from Costco.
I got two papayas, each from a different stand, one was OK, one large for $7, bitter and not edible. Got a pink grapefruit, which was a little dried out, tasting worse than pink grapefruits from California . Huge avocado, was mushy the second day and went to the trash. Fresh coconut for $10, cut up on the spot, was old and just a little coconut water left was fermented and sour, cut up flesh tastes as expected, as old coconut.
Had much better luck buying papayas from Kukuiula market, a regular little store down the road. Had great papayas and huge avocados from Hoku Foods Natural Market in Koloa.
