点评：Pretty average. We made a stop here on our way back to Puerto Natales after a full day of trekking in Torres del Paine. You don't need long. Mylodon Cave gained recognition more than a century ago. In 1895, settler Hermann Eberhard explored the cave and uncovered a peculiar piece of skin covered in thick hair. Both curious onlookers and scientists examined the find, and it was soon confirmed to be the hide of a mylodon, an extinct giant sloth. This discovery sparked numerous scientific expeditions, while also drawing looters who excavated the cave in search of remains to sell to collectors and museums, particularly in Europe. Over the past hundred years, the cave and its surroundings have remained a valuable source of knowledge, contributing decisively to our understanding of Patagonia’s past and the broader story of humanity.
