点评：What an absolutely brilliant experience at the Fan Bay Deep Shelter and Gun Emplacement. We visited as a family and honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, which really added to the whole experience. Our tour guides, Jim and Dave, were fantastic. They were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history, but they also made the tour really engaging, interesting and enjoyable. They brought the story of Fan Bay to life rather than simply giving us facts, and we came away feeling like we had genuinely experienced a little piece of its history.
Walking through the deep shelter and hearing about the soldiers who lived and worked down there, the role it played during WWII and the incredible story of how it was eventually excavated was fascinating. It really makes you appreciate just how much history is hidden beneath our feet.
Jim and Dave were brilliant at answering questions and explaining things in a way that everyone could understand. Their friendliness and humour made the tour feel relaxed and enjoyable, while still giving us a real appreciation for the significance of the site.
A huge thank you to Jim, Dave and all the team for such a memorable visit. Places like this are so important for keeping these stories and experiences alive, and the passion of the people who look after them really shines through.
