点评：Kadek is a wonderful guide. He was punctual, flexible, and attentive. For example, when I told him that my balance was bad, he was willing to change the route we took, and later, he offered me a hand to help me up a couple of steep spots. It was fun going through the paths that you could not even see from the road. Clearly he is from that area, because somebody was always waving to him. 🙂 No wonder he could improvise a new route on the spot.
Also, when I expressed an interest in weaving, he made that a stop on the trip, and it was a beautiful visit to the weaving workshop.
I appreciated the insights into modern Indonesian life that he offered, as well as his willingness to answer questions I had.
Heads up 1: from the pickup point until lunch, there is no restroom available!
Heads up 2: the trip out from Ubud was beautiful, with some of the best views of the rice fields being from the road. But the road is hilly and curvy, so if that makes you queasy, take your Dramamine!
Lunch was simple and delicious.
I highly recommend you take advantage of Kadek's excellent planning, knowledge, and service, and book him for your trip to the Sideman rice fields.
