点评:I decided to write this review specifically because of the poor reviews. This was a truly amazing experience! First of all, to the people saying it was “overpriced”, it was 20 Kuna to get in or about $3. For your $3 you got to admire the beautiful work that these sisters spend weeks or months making! I’m not a particular fan of lace by any means, but anyone with an appreciation for art should have a wonderful time inspecting the craftsmanship. In the back room they had a small collection of lace from other regions of the world, and an example of a “scratch paper” roll of lace that the sisters at this monastery use to practice designs. I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to harvest and bleach the agave fibers let alone design and implement each unique pattern. It’s clear why this practice is recognized by UNESCO, and the monastery is absolutely a necessity when visiting Hvar!
