点评:We only had a few hours to spend in the park, so we decided to bypass the smaller arches and formations and go straight to the parking lot for the delicate arch. I had done this hike as a teenager and really wanted bring my husband and boys (ages 12 + 13).
The hike was hot and strenuous. Most of it is uphill and it is rocky and slippery, especially the higher up you get. The hike is 3 miles round trip. Just when you feel like you’re never going to get there, you turn the corner and there it is! The view is spectacular, 100% worth the trek. (Even the boys agreed, haha). You can get down really close to the arch if you dare, but even sitting pretty far back, you can get a great view. Obviously a perfect photo op! The hike back down is a lot easier, but you have to watch where you step. It’s easy to twist an ankle or slip.
Make sure you bring a lot of water. We stopped every few minutes on the way up to rest/take a drink. (We didn’t need much on the way back). It’s also a good idea to have some quick snacks like energy bars, nuts, or dried fruit. There were several people having picnics at the top as well. Hiking shoes/boots are a must…the sand/rocks make it very slippery! My 13 year old slipped on a rock on the way back down (WITH hiking shoes), and tore all the skin off the front of his shin. People gave us crazy looks the rest of the way back down, lol!

一定要带足水。我们上山的路上每隔几分钟就停下来休息/喝水。(下山的时候我们几乎没怎么喝水)。带些能量棒、坚果或干果之类的零食也挺好的。山顶上也有不少人在野餐。登山鞋/靴子是必备的……沙子和石头很滑!我13岁的儿子下山的时候(穿着登山鞋)还是滑倒了,小腿前面的皮都擦破了。我们下山的路上,路人都用奇怪的眼神看着我们,哈哈!
