点评:We are local and the last time we visited the Ressie was nearly 20 years ago. In those days it was strictly no dogs so we were put off as had a dog then.
Coming back after so long things have changed. Dogs are allowed but on leads and as this is a nature reserve that’s how it should be.
Car park- not bad size wise but maps had all gone so it would be good to see these replenished.
Route- lovely. Due to the trees there are a few places to get near the water but not many. Anglers seem to have lots of priority but that ensures the place is quiet.
This isn’t a playground- it’s a nature reserve and wildlife comes first. No, you can’t swim or paddle board but you can watch the birds (fascinating) and enjoy the serenity.
Navigating- a circular walk isn’t easy as you do at one point have to come away from the reservoir and go onto the old railway stop line. This, however makes the route all the more interesting and full of history.
Facilities- two eco loos- not the nicest experience and probably needs a little more TLC.
I would definitely recommend this amenity as a lovely place for strollers and nature lovers and will certainly visit again- it’s been a long gap!
