点评:Beautiful but be cautious of persistent guides
They are truly beautiful — a natural wonder of Madagascar. My daughter loved it, especially being able to play in the mud. The admission fee was worth it for the experience and scenery.
However, be cautious of the guides. They often insist on accompanying you, even if you say no. It really isn’t necessary to have a guide, especially if you speak English, as most can only point, take photos for you, or tell you where to stand. Despite saying no several times, one guide kept taking my daughter’s hand and showing her where to go. I didn’t want to cause a scene, but it was uncomfortable. He followed us the entire time and wouldn’t let us leave until we paid him.
While we were there, we were also approached repeatedly by people offering to rub mud on us, give foot massages, or paint our faces. It became overwhelming, and we left earlier than planned because of the constant touching and pressure to accept services.
That being said, I would still highly recommend visiting — it’s a stunning and unique place. Just be prepared to say “no” firmly unless you’re happy to accept the extra attention or massages.
