点评:We had a great day out at Splashdown. We went on a colder day, which meant the park was much quieter and there were practically no queues. This was a huge bonus as we were able to get on the slides repeatedly and make the most of our time there.
The only issue I had was with the safety of the slide attendants. On two separate occasions, an attendant told me it was clear to go when it actually wasn’t.
The first time, I ended up crashing into my 8-year-old son, who was stuck halfway down the slide. Thankfully, he was okay.
The second incident was more serious. I was told it was clear to go, but my 9-year-old son was still getting off at the bottom. I collided with him and knocked him straight underwater, where he hit his head on the bottom. His eyebrow immediately started to swell.
Thankfully, both my boys are pretty robust and, despite the incidents, it didn’t spoil their day. However, I do think this is something that needs to be looked at seriously. If this happened twice on a relatively quiet day, I can only imagine how many similar incidents could occur when the park is much busier.
Overall, we had a brilliant day and would definitely return, but I would strongly recommend reviewing the procedures for signalling when slides are clear to ensure this doesn’t happen again
