点评：the journey from turkmenbashy to yangykala canyon takes about 2.5 hours
- the first 2 hours drive is on paved road
- gravel road begins at the fork 40.37093,54.39731
- if you continue straight at the fork, you head towards yangykala canyon
- if you take a right at the fork, you will reach gozli ata 40.33549,54.48798 in 10 minutes. spend 20 minutes visiting the tombs (mausoleum) and cemetery
if you continue straight towards yangykala canyon at the fork,
- you will spend another 45 minutes driving
- you will encounter and drive up a rocky slope here 40.49389,54.75092
- the off-road turn off 40.49486,54.75041 to yangykala canyon is to the immediate left after you ascend the slope
- you will then be heading south (a little backtracking) on this off-road, for about 10-15 minutes
- eventually, you will arrive to the yangykala canyon site, where there are two popular vantage views
- first viewpoint is 40.46353,54.71665
- second viewpoint is 40.45810,54.70860 . this is where the famous IG shot with crocodile ledge is taken
there is really nothing challenging about the overall drive
- sedan is possible until fork between gozli ata and yangykala canyon and also all the way to gozli ata
- from the fork to yangykala canyon, you need higher ground clearance. crossover vehicles will work. the more important thing is dont come when the ground is wet, as some of the soil on the off-road to yangykala canyon seem clay-like, so you may be stuck if too much rain
