点评:As a Swansea citizen me and family have visited here a lot of the years. Since the last two fires, I hoped the area would return to its former glory but alas, it only seems to go more downhill the more we visit.
I want to start by noting the path and road leading to the area itself is an absolute mess. The amount of potholes for such a popular area is horrendous, and an ‘attempt’ has been made to fix them by filling in the larger ones with large stones- which has made the surface even worse for pedestrians! There was also a lady just today being pushed in a wheelchair, who’s wheel got stuck in one on the holes just outside the turning towards the ramp, meaning the lady completely fell out of her wheelchair and banged her head on the pavement. I hope they make a complaint themselves because the staff who eventually came out to see what the commotion was were absolutely useless- was there no one first aid trained on site?! Luckily other passers by managed to help her up and get her into her car.
So, if you’ve managed to make it past the potholes in one piece and venture into the arcade, it doesn’t get much better. I used to adore this arcade, it had such a fun buzz and so many games to play for all the family. Now however, since choosing to reduce the size of the arcade in favour of a cheap looking go kart track outside the choice of games are poor- either they’re broken, out of tickets, or cost too much. This is the first day of the summer holidays- how can so many things be broken and not looked after?!
I went here with my two year old so we were in need of using the baby change in the arcade, which was in an absolute state. The floor was covered in murky water which leaked out under the door, and the baby change table looked like it hadn’t a wipe down for months. I just about managed to change his nappy by him standing up on the changing table (which is mounted far too high on the wall, someone shorter than me would really struggle to change a baby on it) as I didn’t want him touching anything.
I don’t know what this place needs right now; whether it’s new management, better training, or more staff- but the place just seems to be surviving, not thriving like it used to do which is such a massive shame.
