Old favourite. Good for independent travellers.
Pachia Ammos Beach的点评
点评：The town is an old favourite that we have visited a lot of times since 1985. Most, if not all, of the accommodation, shops and restaurants etc. are run by small businesses so a lot of what you spend goes into the local economy. It used to be difficult to reach but since we first went there has been a big rise in flights to Chania airport which is about 1.5 hours drive away compared with Heraklion which is about 4 hours drive. You can also reach Paleochora from Chania by local bus.
In the evenings part of the town centre is closed to cars creating a relaxed atmosphere.
On the West side of town is a sandy beach with an established nude section at the far end and on the East side a stoney beach which is often more pleasant on days when the wind whips sand on the West side.
Prices have obviously gone up over the years but it still seems reasonable compared with some destinations.
