点评:This was a 5 day tour on a small bus--27 people and a tour guide. The bus rode very rough and the tour guide ignored the suggestion that I sit somewhere other than over the back wheels--even though he said it was noted on his guest list. He was unfriendly from the beginning of the tour, making unnessary and snide remarks about luggage, even though the driver of the courtesy bus said that I should put my carryon under the bus. Although, a local guide was picked up in Hyannis for a 3 day tour of the area, our Wolf guide led the tours which my daughter and I chose to go to Nantucket prior to the trip. The local guide provided maps and suggestions for places to shop and eat for the day. Our Wolf guide had no maps of Nantucket, although he showed us a map he handheld before going on the ferry and then randomly gave out maps that the ferry staffer gave him, when the staffer found he had not providee them--unfortunately not he same map we were shown by Wolf guide, He also told us that the streets were all cobblestone and to wear sturdy shoes--The streets are cobblestone, but the sidewalks and crossings in the streets are red brick, so we trudged around in heavy shoes unnecessarily. The only other direction we were given was that it was extremely expensive ($100 for a shirt was mentioned) and we should just walk up the main street and check it out--no suggestions where to fine reasonably priced items or food. (This also happened in Privincetown.) They do exist in Nantucket--such as the Hub, where we had delicious panini's at a reasonable price. There was also not any suggestions of places to visit that might be worthwhile--like the Whaling Museum, which we discovered late in the day and would have visited had it be noted by the guide. In Hyannis, only one restuarant was mentioned, a sitdown expensive one, and we were told that a shop that gives a discount to bus customers closed at 6:00 PM before we arrived--this turned out to be inaccurate--couldn't the tour guide call and check this out??
We did like the food, the hotel, and the places visited, I would suggest that you let people know what kind of bus is being provided before the trip. We returned home via Peter Pan bus--a larger tandem wheeled bus, and then traveled by train from Providence, RI to Lancaster.
