Wonderful Shop, Owner, and Dirndl!

点评：My daughter and I LOVED this shop. Dirndl are expensive because they are hand made by skilled crafts people rather than mass produced in far away sweatshops. And they are build to last many years, so different than the "fast fashion" we are used to. So getting to pick out our own special outfit was a wonderful experience while were were in Salzburg for the Christmas Markets.
When we were in the shop the owner and her dog Heidi helped us out. It was great to talk with her and learn about how her grandmother started the company and she was carrying on the tradition and adding her modern fashion design sense to include lots of fun colour combinations and cuts. I was so impressed with the owners ability to look at us and know exactly what size would fit each of us best. (My husband went to a tailor shop to get a suit once and the guy there had this incredible skill too from years of practice.)
We ended up finding a few great options from the sale rack. They were still a serious investment, but we were happy to save a little money in the process and find really pretty dirndl which fit our fuller body types well. Something else that makes these outfit great was that they are designed so they can be taken in or taken out a sizer or two-so if your body changes shape a bit they can be altered to still look good. In fact the owner altered my daughter's because she was between sizes to get the right fit. I hope to get back to Salzburg with my other daughter who now wants her own dirndl.
