点评:I've been coming here for 3 years so I feel the need to review this place for multiple reasons because a lot of the feedback is true and it seems contradictory but it is actually not. The booking process seems difficult (esp since they don't have email and the online booking is Japanese only) and potentially not foreign-friendly (like many places in Kyoto). I always ask my friend or guide to make the booking for me and every native Japanese person who has called has always commented with almost disgust at how rude the person is on the phone by Japanese standards.
Once I arrive for my appointment, however, the experience is COMPLETELY different. Of course, it helps that I arrive and mostly speak only Japanese, but they are so kind and flexible and helpful. The massage is amazing and almost transports you to a different time period (the experience we're all hoping to have when we visit Japan).
So in short, the massage is amazing. Last time I had Hitoshi-San and he changed my life. At the same time, it is important for you to speak Japanese, take off your shoes immediately upon entering and do not, under any circumstances, play the tourist game where they should cater to you as a foreigner.
Only go to this place if you want an authentic experience - but remember, to have an authentic experience you need to behave like you are authentically interested in the culture and following THEIR norms. Speak Japanese to the best of your ability, be on time, do not be loud, take off your shoes, and you'll have a blast.
