Hay Farm Heavy Horse Centre的点评
点评：Slightly disappointing visit to hay farm heavy horse centre. You don’t expect much for £7.50 these days but all you get for your money is a pass to look around a barn and feed the horses (food is £1 per bag). No staff on site to talk to you about the animals or the history sadly. We timed our visit to take the kids on the advertised carriage rides, and after paying for entry asked how to book the ride only to be casually told ‘we are not doing them today’. Cue two very disappointed children. Also, after being impressed by some of the food being served in the cafe on arrival we decided to stop for food after visiting the barn, only to be told hot food finished at 2.30pm (it was 2.50pm at this point). If this had been stated on the menus or blackboards we would’ve ordered when we arrived.
So we left having enjoyed seeing the magnificent horses (there’s also a few goats, ducks, and pigs) but feeling hungry and slightly misled thinking we would get a carriage ride experience as per the website that in reality was never going to happen. We would happily have spent more money while we were there on the rides and food if we were able, so can’t help thinking the centre is missing a trick or two in terms of generating income and providing a memorable experience for visitors.
