West Highland Way的点评
点评：Just back from the west highland way with my family and couldn’t recommend the experience enough to anyone thinking of attempting the trek.
This review is just to warn of accommodation
Kingshouse hotel is extremely expensive and whilst the setting is great the food is overpriced and bang average. Consider the Glen Coe resort as a alternative, whilst the pods and cafe are more rustic you get a better sense of value for money, the service and food are also superior
Tailrace inn. This hotel is pass it’s end of life with poor staffing and horrific rooms, there’s better lodgings in Kinlochleven even if it’s in the pods at Blackwater. Spend the extra money and avoid this hotel until change of ownership or refurbishment.
Alexandra Hotel. Overpriced and run down, fort William in season is expensive but this hotel is long past its best from missing front signage to bathrooms beyond the lifespan and heating that makes rooms into sauna combined with old sash and case windows that only open an inch.
All of the above was noted from the individual hotel reviews but consider your accommodation wisely if taking in the challenge. We were lucky and the weather was great meaning the hotels were bare able (just) but in a different day after walking in the rain all day it might have been the straw that broke the camels back and turned a great trip into a disaster!
