On a dark Madeira evening, west side of Funchal
Sits a bar called Bacchus, yeah, we know it well.
If you need some refreshments, it’s open most nights
You can catch bus 1,2 or 4, they’ll stop and you can alight.
There are drinks at the Bacchus Bar, they’ve got snack food here.
You don’t have to look very far to find a cold, Coral beer.
If wine is your pleasure, they have some really fine
If it’s rhum that you crave, they have it all the time.

It’s a Poncha space (It’s a Poncha space) or a dark beer place.
Plenty of drinks at Bacchus Bar in Funchal
They’ve got snacks here and lots of beer
The people there are gifted. Alex will make you what you like
There are not many cadeiras here, so, just sit where you like
And the reviews keep raving about the atmosphere.
But I keep thinking to myself,
“It has to be that cold, black beer”
