Fab boat but GPS failure made it an expensive trip!

点评：An absolute highlight of our holiday! We booked in advance and had to change the booking at short notice due to one of our party being ill - the Ocimar team were friendly and kindly accommodated our request.
The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is that the boat’s GPS froze … we managed to reset it as soon as we realised the map didn’t seem to be moving/keeping up with us, but in that time the propeller sustained some scratches against a hidden rock. The system is great when it works - makes it very easy to avoid shallow waters etc. it also shows the Ocimar team our route, so they could clearly see that the moment we caught the rock we had no GPS (we had vanished on the screen for about 2 inches, where the rock was!). I wish I had taken a photo of the screen before we left the boat, but at that point we didn’t expect to be charged for the GPS failure.
We totally understand that these things happen, but we were charged an extra €150 euros for something beyond our control. (As they take the €500 deposit upfront there’s no way to argue it, but it just didn’t feel like fair play). The team just said we should’ve phoned them - there just wouldn’t have been time it happened in a matter of seconds.
The boat itself was lovely - clean and smart, and we had a lovely few hours exploring the different coves - it just turned into an expensive day.
