The Inverness Castle Experience的点评
点评：My wife and I visited Inverness Castle while on a short trip. Had we read the reviews on here first we wouldn’t have bothered and we’d have saved £40 instead.
Putting it bluntly, this is not a visit / tour of Inverness Castle.
This is a a series of multimedia experiences regarding the Highlands, narrated by so-called storytellers with a heavy dose of “spirits” (and not the wee dram sort either). A lot of it is multiple voices overlapping which makes it really surreal and very hard to listen to. It’s all style over substance!
There are some highlights: the views from the south tower are spectacular, and the gallery with the embroidery is worth a visit. I did find the topics on the clearances and the witch trials interesting, but they are so brief - blink and you will miss them.
The staff are all really friendly and helpful, and the bistro has a decent selection of food and beverages but it’s free and accessible from the castle grounds. The bistro does have a display about the castle itself and it’s quite interesting - but, again, you don’t need to pay to see it.
We absolutely wouldn’t come back and we absolutely cannot recommend it. Each to their own, of course, and this is just our perspective. From reading the other reviews on here it seems to be a case of you love it or you don’t. We fall strongly into the latter camp.
It’s a shame as the castle is an impressive building with a rich history, almost none of which is on display. There are nods in that direction - the advocates library, the courtroom, the door to a jail cell but they are hidden by the overpowering and overstimulating multimedia extravaganza. On the one hand I can understand the desire to avoid this being just a lot of static exhibits, but the use of multimedia and animation is just too much: it’s omnipresent, overpowering and confusing.

我们绝对不会再来，也绝对不推荐这里。当然，萝卜青菜各有所爱，这只是我们的看法。从其他评论来看，似乎大家对这里的评价要么是爱不释手，要么是嗤之以鼻。我们显然属于后者。
