点评：While staying in Bratislava we decided to independently visit the wine producing area using the excellent local transport. After short train and bus journeys we found ourselves in Modra and having read excellent reviews about Vino Fiala we decided to check it out. It was easy to find on the high street but when we got there the door was firmly shut. We decided to phone them to see if anyone was around. Martin answered and when we told him we were at his front door he very kindly came and met us. In retrospect we should have made an appointment in advance because Martin was right in the middle of harvesting time and was extremely busy. Nevertheless he made us very welcome even though we had blown a hole in his schedule. As many have already said he is a very nice man and gave us an excellent insight to the history of wine growing in the area as well as his family history that goes back through many generations. He also gave us the opportunity to taste his wines, two white ones which were very good and then, when visiting the cellar, his red which was extracted directly from the barrel and was excellent. We learned more about the area and its wine in the half an hour or so we spent with Martin than we have done in most of the more organised wine excursions we have attended in the past. If you are going to be in the area make a point of arranging a visit to Vino Fiala, you will have an instructive and very enjoyable time..
