点评：Super misleading to list this as an attraction without caveats.
Impossible to find is the first problem. Once you take the exit at the highway sign at Debeque , you are routed through town, then all signage disappears. (The locals in town literally suggest you try something else. They’re tired of calming down people who spent hours lost in the back country trying to find it!) Google maps from the website might also send you down the highway to exit 45 (which their own directions say is exit 46) at Cameo. Despite their written directions, THERE IS NO SIGN AT CAMEO except for the active firing range, which you will be driving slowly through on both sides of you for the next mile or so. Prominent warning signs on either side of the gravel road reminding you that you are in AN ACTIVE FIRING RANGE. The whole time, there is ONE sign that mentions you are in ‘Public recreation area’ but ZERO signs telling you that you are headed to the Wild Horse Range, or just how far that might be. One review mentions that it was 23 miles…If you’re going to get this far, you WILL NEED A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, preferably lifted. This is VERY off road, wild country, into the woodlands. Extremely coarse roads with dry wash beds running through them. Take plenty of water. Your cell signal will be useless. We finally decided that this seemed like a recipe for disaster, and turned around. Maybe we are just not hardy enough souls for this adventure. If you go, be prepped, and be prepared to fail. I hope you see some lovely country, and maybe some horses.
Since a recent news report says they’re rounding up most of them to sell or relocate. As the local lady on our last attempt told me, Good Luck!
