Threatening and intimidating doorman.
The Hop的点评
点评：Gone to Hop many many times.
Unfortunately this last visit Saturday 1st March, was completely ruined by the doorman who got extremely upset with me, for asking him to be more polite, after he had barged in to me. ( my only words spoken in a calm and quite manner)
For some reason he turned in to some kind of raging lunatic. Told my 4 other friends and I to leave immediately, even with drinks poured and not paid for.
Upon frogmarching us all off the premises, he continued to rant and rave at us all, obviously, in my opinion wanting some kind of reaction from us.
Whoever owns the Hop has now lost certainly my custom, and probably at least 4 more customers too, along with as many people as I can persuade not to visit your establishment again.
If this is the kind of staff you the owners want to employ, then you need to take a good look at your business model.
Before we are tarred with the same brush as to why he might have kicked off, we were 5 middle aged men, stood watching a band waiting to be served, not drunk by any means, having just travelled 2 1/2 on a train.
Compared the doorman in the next premises we visited, I can only say that your doorman is no more than a bully, and is on some kind of power trip.
I’m happy to discuss further if the owners are at all interested, as with times getting more and more difficult in the “ pub” trade, if you continue with people like this operating in your premises, you might find you have no customers.
Massive shame, as I have enjoyed many a good night in the Hop.
