点评:Coming to Chiang Mai always goes together with a visit to our beloved Elephant Sanctuary Patara. Me and my daughter enjoy the park with elephants roaming around with their babies. Mostly of the time the baby elephants come spontaneously to play with the people with their mothers looking careful just a few steps away,-but never separated. There is a lovely atmosphere were people can meet the big giants in all freedom and without any stress or forcing the animals. Yes, it is possible to meet elephants, interact with them and their babies, and yet they are free. This is not the first time we are visiting Patara and i can honestly write this. No sticks, no chains. The mahouts are coordinating with their voices, and each elephant has their own care taker, mostly for many many years. We were extremely lucky to have back our elephant Budin for the second time, she is so gentle and wise. Her care taker knows her for 20+ years, taking care of her in any way he can. You can see and feel that he loves his job. It is amazing to wander through the beautiful scenery, forest and rivers, with the elephant, bath her and brush her. Yes, she loves MANY banana's!. All animals are looking very healthy, and they have several babies each year.It has been a true blessing for us and we will be back again if we have the chance.Thank you people of Patara for the great efforts, and see you the next time!
