点评:Such a shame that this place was closed. As a local and previous Cats Survival Trust member I just wanted to say that the closure of this place and Villainising of poor Terry was a huge loss to the world of cat conservation. I did not know him well but by all accounts the man was well respected in the community and honest about the constraints imposed on him (mostly by the council) which affected the conditions they were kept in (- i.e. the disallowing of expansion to existing enclosures) however he was constantly striving to improve them. He admitted that caging animals was always a last resort but the cats were clearly well loved and looked after. Remember, these were all (with the exception of the few bred to combat extinction) cats doomed to death - mostly by the zoos they were originally kept in who deemed them as "too old" to be entertaining. He came across as a man who was both hardworking and dedicated to the cause, holding records for the oldest cats in captivity as well as saving existing habitats in which they could thrive in the wilds of South America. I'm sad to know my young kids will not get to visit this place and angry that such a miscarriage of justice was allowed to take place in my own back yard.
