点评:In my opinion the most visually beautiful monument in Krakow is Pomnik Grunwaldski ( Grunwald Monument ).
The Grunwald Monument celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Battle Of Grunwald, a turning point in the history of Poland when the combined armies of Poland and Lithuania defeated the Teutonic Knnights .
Unveiled in 1910 but destroyed during the German occupation of Krakow during World War Two and restored in 1976 ,this monument is amazing to view ,the bronze figures are superb ,you have King Wladyslaw Jagiello astride his horse, Lithuanian Prince Vytautas leading his troops and soldiers from Poland and Lithuania poised for battle,at the foreground of this monument is the slain figure of Grand Master of the Teutons Urlich Von Junjingen ,its such a fascinating monument to view ,very photogenic, in front of this grand monument is the more sombre and poignant Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier ( Grob Nieznanego Zawierze) ,all in all its a great monument to check out if you're planning a holiday to Krakow and easy to locate on Plac Jana Matejki ( Jan Matejko Square.
