Very good wines in a cool tasting room building

点评：A friend suggested getting together to visit Rune Wines when I was passing through the Sonoita wine region recently and we stopped in right around their opening time in the late morning. The tasting room building is a distinctive wood and steel structure with a welcoming interior, and there's a small vineyard nearby. Michelle was working in the tasting room during our visit and she led us through tasting a rosé, two white wines, four red wines, and a sweet (and spicy) mead to finish. Rune specializes in wines made from Rhône Valley grape varieties, but we tried wines from other grape varieties as well - Malvasia Bianca, Graciano, and Malbec.In addition to the wine tasting menu, Rune offers a food menu with mostly small bites and charcuterie, and although my friend and I didn’t have any food there, we saw a couple of other tasting room visitors enjoying some and it looked delicious. Overall the wines were very good and I thought a couple of them were real standouts. Prices were fair given the quality, and Michelle was a friendly and knowledgeable host. I'd certainly visit Rune again if I'm back in the Sonoita wine region.
