An Unforgettable 5-Week Journey by Monica Mo & Odynovo

点评：My husband and I recently returned from a great 5+ week journey through the Silk Road Stans and the Caucasus countries, and we cannot praise Monica Mo and the team at Odynovo enough. Planning a multi-country itinerary across this complex and diverse region is no small job, but Monica’s meticulous planning, responsiveness, and expertise turned our ambitious dream trip into a fun and fabulous journey.
From start to finish, the logistics were handled with absolute precision, allowing us to simply immerse ourselves in the incredible history, culture, and landscapes.
With so much ground to cover in five weeks, every stop was important. Monica carefully chose the most incredible sites in each location. The pacing was excellent, ensuring we experienced the absolute best architectural wonders, landscapes, and historical sites without feeling overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the region.
Across every single country, the hotel selections were great. We stayed in properties that offered the perfect blend of comfort, excellent locations, and local character.
While all of our local guides throughout the trip were excellent, our experiences in Azerbaijan and Georgia were among the best we have ever had. The guides in these two countries were truly the highlights of our trip. They didn't just show us the sights; they shared their hearts, humor, and deep local insights. We shared so many laughs and meaningful conversations that we truly left as genuine friends. Saying goodbye to them felt like leaving family.
The rest of our guiding team across Central Asia was also good, showcasing an incredible depth of historical knowledge and ensuring we missed nothing along the historic Silk Road. We even had one that was an archaeologist and we learned so much from him. The care they provided, such as always checking us into our hotels, making sure we had plenty of water, telling us the rules and expectations of all the mosques and remarkably old monasteries, etc (the list could go on) was really appreciated.
One of the most profoundly moving aspects of our trip was listening to our guides share their personal experiences of living through the Communist period and the turbulent transition to independence. Hearing these firsthand, deeply human stories brought the modern history of these nations to life in a way no textbook ever could.
If you are planning a trip to Central Asia and/or the Caucasus, look no further than Monica Mo at Odynovo.
