Ashuelot Covered Bridge的点评
点评：Driving back from Brattleboro, VT to Keene, NH, I came into Ashuelot and rounding a bend in the road, this bridge nearly hits you in the face. No way you can miss it!!
It's a beautiful old bridge, crossing the Ashuelot River, with covered sidewalks on either side. Unfortunately, when I was there, the sidewalks were closed off.
There's no great place to pull off right at the bridge site, but just a few dozen yards up Rt. 10 there is a gravel pull off. You can get some nice pictures from there, as well as hike back to the bridge. Only be careful: There is no sidewalk, the shoulder is extremely narrow, and the locals drive by like a bat out of hell.
Sadly, on this trip, much of New England is in a drought period, so the rivers and streams that normally are filled with rushing waters are now very low and somewhat sluggish. i was happy to see that the river for the bridge did have a pretty decent flow.
