点评:Memorial Acte, with its striking architectural design and clean form, stands in stark contrast to surrounding Point-Au-Pitre, which is dated and dilapidated. The museum tells the story of the Caribbean slave trade in an interesting way, with an automated audio guide that traverses galleries with artifacts, videos, informational panels and art installations. The automated guide is not something I have had before, and while the concept is interesting, I was often confused about when I was supposed to be moving to the next exhibit room, and when the information panels and videos were duplicating audio content. The challenging history is presented as objectively as it could be, and there is a lot of history covered here. I spent about 2 hours going through the permanent exhibition. Reserve tickets in advance, as there was a line queued when I left. While it was open on Sunday, it seemed that the restaurant and some exhibition galleries were closed, so a different day might be preferable if you want to see everything here.
