An unforgettable experience with the Jurien Bay sea lions!

点评：Our family joined Turquoise Safaris for their Sea Lion Tour at Jurien Bay on 21 September, and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our Western Australian road trip.
Coming from Far North Queensland, my wife Jenn, our 10-year-old son Liam and I were a little apprehensive beforehand about the weather and, particularly, how cold the water might be! Those concerns quickly disappeared from the moment we met the friendly crew and were welcomed aboard.
The entire crew went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and included, regardless of swimming ability or confidence in the water. Their professionalism and friendly, relaxed approach immediately put us at ease. They were also absolutely wonderful with Liam, making a real fuss of him both on the boat and in the water, which meant a lot to us as parents.
Then came the sea lions!
We were incredibly fortunate to have multiple interactions with these amazing animals. Being in the water while the sea lions swam and played around us was something none of us will ever forget. Watching Liam experience it alongside us made it even more special. For our family, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and has become one of the major highlights of our journey along the Western Australian coast.
The crew were fantastic in the water and clearly very knowledgeable about the sea lions, their behaviour and marine biology more generally. We always felt that we were in experienced and capable hands while still being able to relax and simply enjoy this extraordinary encounter.
Getting back aboard after our swim was pretty good too! The skipper had tea and coffee waiting, a hot Milo for Liam and, importantly, Tim Tams! After being in the water, those little touches were very much appreciated and added to the friendly, personal atmosphere of the whole tour.
What stood out most was that this never felt like we were simply being processed through another tourist attraction. There was genuine enthusiasm from the crew for what they do and for making sure everyone aboard had the best possible experience.
Jenn, Liam and I walked away absolutely buzzing from the morning. It really did make our day.
If you're visiting Jurien Bay, I cannot recommend this family-owned business highly enough. The combination of a fantastic crew, their knowledge and professionalism, and the incredible opportunity to interact with the sea lions made this an experience our family will be talking about for many years to come.
