Breakout KC Escape Rooms的点评
点评：This review focuses more on the actual room than the folks working there (who were all great.) We did the bank room, which they warned us was the most difficult room. To us, the puzzles that we got to were all moderate in difficulty...there were just a LOT of them, which is why it is difficult to finish on time. A couple of the folks in our group like to play escape room computer games, so we are very comfortable with the idea and know the kinds of things to look for, mind traps to avoid, etc., though.
Things we liked were the staff and that the puzzle room had a decent theme with puzzles that we could split up and work on. Things that we didn't like were that we were given a lot of hints that we never asked for. For us, it would be better to have fewer puzzles that are a little more challenging and allow us to struggle at least a little bit to see what we have previously ignored or explore a puzzle more before nudging us. A couple of people in our group who have done other escape rooms said that they had a button you could press for a hint or a sign to hold up. That would have been MUCH better than just nudging us when we showed the least little bit of fixation on the wrong thing or to see something that we previously ignored. This was probably partially our fault for not having previous experience, because the moderator did ask us about getting hints...but in hindsight, it seemed like the choice was either no hints or too many unrequested hints, which we didn't like.
It was okay, we had fun. But it could've been a lot better. I think we will be trying some of the other escape rooms around KC, because they are fun to do!
