点评:We loved the Douro Valley and loved our wine tasting experience at Quinta da Pacheco winery. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, the winery was spacious and clean and the group was not too big. I have never been a fan of port wines because the ones that I have tried over the years have all tasted like cough syrup. However, the ports at this winery were fantastic! I did not know that there were white and pink ports. During out tasting we tried the various varietals that also included a 25 year Tawny Port! We ended up buying 2 cases of wine and ports and also some of the best olive oil!
The tour of the grapes and the explanation of the process was fun and I enjoyed learning about the experience.
Although our wine tour was lovely, the lunch at the restaurant was terrible and the only thing that we enjoyed was the view. They were very slow despite the fact that we had a reservation, the service was not the best and the food was not good. We used a booking agent for our experience and I could not believe that after booking us at various Michelin restaurants why he thought we would enjoy this place.
The other negative, which is no fault of the winery, is that you should be prepared and expect to receive your wine about 4 months after you place your order.
