点评："What's Mead?" you ask. That was my first question too. In simple terms, it’s honey wine. Not knowing what it is adds to the enigma and the satisfaction of discovering a whole new type of wine.
1634 Meadery is a hidden gem with a cozy, neighborhood-bar vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff—and the owner—are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. We started with a sampler, which gave us the chance to try their most popular meads along with a few seasonal specialties. Each pour was unique and delicious.
When we were undecided about what to purchase, the bartender went above and beyond, generously offering a few extra samples to help us choose. That level of hospitality is rare and truly appreciated.
If you’re ever driving through Ipswich, do not miss this place. Whether you’re a mead enthusiast or just curious, 1634 Meadery is an experience worth savoring.
