Fascinating Visit to Chengdu

点评：A fascinating journey to Chengdu to focus on several major educational attractions. Mount Qingchen involved a strenuous hike in addition to a major assist from the cable car. The visit at the top to the temple - the birth of Taoism - was beautiful. The views of the mountains and valleys were spectacular and well worth the exertion. A visit later that day to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System was fascinating - this a great marvel of engineering that is functional today. Our visit the next day to the Panda Breeding and Research Center was everything expected with many Great Pandas - including babies - available up close. A bonus were the much smaller Red Pandas that I had not about earlier.
My guide. Yolanda, was highly knowledgeable and provided an interesting and in-depth knowledge of each attraction. She added insight into the city of Chengdu beyond the visited attractions. She made great suggestions for lunch each day focused on my vegetarian diet. Our two drivers were very skilled with traffic in a mega city and I always felt safe.
