点评:This was a fun little find in Pescasseroli! They have a couple of animals here that are non-releasable, and the whole place is a small, easy walk. I’d say it’s great for kids or even for a little romantic walk with your partner.
It’s definitely not like what we see in the U.S., or maybe even other parts of Europe, but I’d still recommend stopping by and checking it out. It’s not expensive to get in, and it gives you a different perspective on how animals are cared for and maintained.
One of the things I enjoyed was walking through the old bear habitat. The area is connected to the park’s work with brown bears, including the Marsican brown bear, which is native to this part of the Apennines. The old habitat isn’t used anymore and now looks almost like a little amphitheater, although it’s no longer being utilized. I personally really like little pieces of history like this, so I thought it was pretty cool to see and walk through.
Overall, I enjoyed the visit and would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in Pescasseroli!
