点评:We visited Aberfan memorial garden and also the cemetery on the way home from our wales holiday. I wasn’t alive when the disaster happened but, being a teacher, it was something I felt the need to do. The memorial garden is very well kept, and a peaceful place to sit and reflect. One can’t even begin to imagine the heartbreak in this town nearly 60 years ago. A short walk up from the memorial garden we found the cemetery. Many of the children and adults that perished are buried here (and also now some of the children’s parents) I walked along and touched each beautifully presented headstone/memorial and said the name of each child to share my respect and love for each one. Some families even lost two children. 💔 one child would be hard enough, but two….?
What a heartbreaking event in time…so so sad. Seeing all those graves really makes you reassess what’s important in life….

那是多么令人心碎的一幕啊……实在太悲伤了。看到这么多坟墓,真会让人重新思考生命中什么才是最重要的……
