I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Nirox Sculpture Park.
I had carefully planned and paid for a small, intimate ceremony at the venue. The team was incredibly attentive and accommodating before payment was made. Thereafter payment, shortly before the event, we were informed that we would suddenly be required to pay an additional R13,000+, despite there being no additional services provided. This left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and, frankly, taken advantage of. The team also became unhelpful for finding a reasonable resolution and unresponsive.
As a result, we requested a full refund of the amounts paid - which is fully within the cancellation/refund terms and conditions that were provided to us before we paid the deposit and under which we agreed to the booking.
Our refund request was made over a month ago, and we are still waiting for our money to be returned. Despite following up with several people within the organisation, our correspondence has been ignored for weeks, with no meaningful explanation for the delay.
For an organisation operating a venue where people entrust you with significant personal events, this level of administration, communication and customer service is unacceptable.
It is incredibly disappointing to have planned what should have been a special and intimate occasion, only to be faced with an unexpected additional charge, followed by a prolonged struggle to receive a refund that we are entitled to under the very terms provided by Nirox prior to payment.
I cannot believe that the facilities and bookings are being managed in this manner. The lack of accountability and communication throughout this process has been extremely frustrating.
Based on this experience, I will not be returning to Nirox Sculpture Park, nor will I support or recommend the venue in future.
I sincerely hope that Nirox reviews how its bookings, billing, refunds and customer complaints are being managed, because this experience has been completely unacceptable.
