点评:Lincoln Park is on the National Register of Historic Places for its landscape architecture and history. It was named Phoenix Park in 1866 when it was built but was renamed in honor of Abraham Lincoln in 1867. It is Portland's first (and therefore oldest) public park. Its centerpiece is the vintage 3-tiered Parisian fountain with its beautiful sculptures of children and a small spire. A small bird was using one of the tiers as a birdbath when I was there, which was humorous to watch. The park has plenty of wooden benches and lots of old trees that are very cooling on a hot day. In recent years, the Friends of Lincoln Park and the City of Portland restored the French fountain, repaved the paths, and generally cleaned up the once abandoned park. There's are four stately granite gateways, and the park is enclosed by an elaborate iron fence. It's definitely worth a stop.
