点评:We purchased tickets in advance as they sell out fast and had entry into one of the first "tours" of the day. We expected crowds but it was overly packed with lines outside. We decided to head upstairs first since the downstairs was so crammed. What we didn't know is that there were signs that read "one way" but what that actually means is once you go upstairs, they won't let you come back downstairs. We went past the beautiful staircase where we had to skip the line of people stopping to take selfies. There was an attendant at the bottom of the stairs. We shopped upstairs, got a few books and decide to head back down. I was stopped by the attendant halfway down telling me it was one way. I told her I wanted to shop more down there and she said it was one way so I went back upstairs. After about 10 minutes of shopping upstairs my husband decided to try to go back down and was stopped by the same attendant halfway down. While the line of people wanting to take a photo on the stairs looked on he told the attendant he wanted to shop more and she told him it's one way - so back upstairs we went. They didn't mind everyone holding up the entire staircase to take photos but customers couldn't shop.......the staircase is a spiral staircase. They could have everyone come down one way and up the other way.
The books are separated out by language, and the bookshelves go up so high that you really can only see/shop the books halfway up the wall.
The bookstore is beautiful but it's not a big selection of books. They have a lot of classics. You do get the cost of your ticket back - they give you a store credit but only for the purchase of certain books. Once upstairs, there is a "newer" area that you enter to check out but again - once you enter this spot you cannot reenter the "older" bookstore. Just wasn't impressed.
