Pierella Ecological Garden的点评
点评：This place is off the beaten path. A small dirt road off the main road (Hwy 4) with a very inconspicuous wooden double gate. Crossing those gate, you come into a paradisal land. William and Kristal have developed this land from a small plot into one of the premier lowland birding locations in Costa Rica. They have obtained pasture and abandoned land and let it recover into what it originally was… wild. On my visit, I was able to view and photograph frogs, bats, butterflies and over 50 new species of birds. My guide, Greimer, (sp?) was superbly knowledgeable and appeared to know where all the species were… fantastic. We had two daytime and one night tour during a one night stay.
The butterfly garden is fantastic, mainly because, as a side business, they export butterflies all over the world.
As far as accommodations, rooms were clean, spacious and air conditioned, a must in this hot and humid climate.
Meals were included and fresh, varied and abundant.
They have plenty and well marked trails.
I want to directly thank Kristal, who so graciously went out of her way to transport my wife in her vehicle to the dining area, being that she has walking problems.
