Machu Picchu Was the Destination, but Local Trekkers Peru Made the Inca Trail Unforgettable

点评：We originally booked the Inca Trail because we wanted that experience of arriving at Machu Picchu on foot.
What we didn't expect was how much we would enjoy everything that happened before Machu Picchu.
Four days gives you time to really disconnect. No traffic, no normal routine, just mountains, old Inca sites, forests and a group of people sharing the same adventure.
Our guide Braulio was excellent at explaining the history without making it feel like a history lesson. We stopped at several archaeological sites along the way and learned things about the Incas that we probably never would have understood by simply visiting Machu Picchu for a few hours.
The Local Trekkers Peru team also took really good care of us. Camp was ready when we arrived, meals were fresh and surprisingly varied, and the porters were always friendly and positive.
By the last evening, everyone was tired, dirty and very happy. We had spent several days together and the whole group felt completely different from the strangers who had met in Cusco at the beginning.
Then came Machu Picchu.
Seeing it after actually walking there for four days is difficult to describe. It felt like we had earned that final moment.
Local Trekkers Peru gave us exactly the kind of experience we were hoping for, and we would happily travel with them again.
