点评：The grounds are free. Touring the house, one needs to order tickets via their website www.friendsofcedarmere.org It is quiet reasonable (affordable). Most of the first floor of the home is open for guided-tour viewing. The upstairs of the house is not as there are supporting operations that are housed there (offices). That said, a walk through the garden is lovely. Bring a camera! The exterior of the house is gorgeous and the volunteer organization that maintains the property and house continue to make restoration and maintenance. The house is original as it the boathouse. The Mill has been restored and is often open and included on guided tours.
You can walk down to the harbor/inlet when the tide isn't too high. Wear shoes you won't mind getting muddy.
Off-leash and/or poorly behaved dogs are strictly forbidden. Local residents have ignored the long-standing 'leashed only' policy and dogs overran and ruined the historic gardens. IF you plan on walking your dog here, be respectful of the property and those who work to create a beautiful place: clean up after your dog and use a leash while you're there.
There are no public restrooms nor snack bar, etc. The estate is small but quiet a gem in the realm of historic properties in America.
Parking is limited; if you're in a camper or van, use the lower parking lot around the corner below the homestead.
No smoking on the property.
Small, quiet picnics are encouraged.
