点评：Nestled in a repurposed Victorian public lavatory beneath Manchester's Great Bridgewater Street, The Temple is one of the city's most famous dives, and it embraces its gritty glory without apology. After descending a small staircase, you pass walls covered in stickers and gig posters and enter a dimly lit, moody den that seems like it could have been an old-fashioned green room from Oasis's glory days.
With barely enough space for a few tables, a jukebox and a lengthy bar stocked with an unexpectedly robust assortment of beers and whiskies, the interior is cosy but almost claustrophobic. The music is loud, unrepentant, and primarily rock and alternative. The warm amber lighting and the buzz of conversation make it the ideal place to meet other music lovers or hide out with friends while enjoying a pint.
The service is prompt, cordial, and straightforward. The atmosphere feels very Manchester raw, authentic, and slightly rebellious and the bartenders are knowledgeable. Although it isn't a place for a long night out or a quiet evening, it is excellent at what it does best a basement bar with lots of personality and tales to tell.
