点评：The lighthouse of the Italians of Argentina is a nice and curious site on the Janiculum hill.
Built in 1911 by the architect Manfredo Manfredi, it is a work of great symbolic value: placed where the fights for the defense of the Roman Republic of 1849 took place, it was donated to the city of Rome by the Italians of Buenos Aires, as a testimony of the bond with their homeland, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Unification of Italy.
Neoclassical in style and entirely in white stone, it is 20 meters high and has a base diameter of 10 meters.
A capital has the dedication engraved: "To Rome Capital the Italians of Argentina. MCMXI" and is surmounted by an altar decorated with four volutes with lion heads.
It has a large glass lantern, accessible by a spiral staircase.
From the surrounding area you can admire an enchanting panorama of Rome.
