Paddy Freeman's Park的点评
点评：I've been a regular visitor to Paddy Freeman's park for the best part of a decade, but have known of it all my life.
I moved from the West end of the city to the east end in 2019, and the park (along with those of Heaton, and Armstrong and Jesmond Dene of course) quickly became firm favourites with me and my dog.
Yes, OK, it's a bit shabby, but severe underfunding of councils by successive governments means there's little left for groundsmen and other luxuries. Its grounds were, until recently, kept in check by Urban Green's volunteer rangers. This may still be the case, but I'm not 100% sure.
Its infrastructure is intact; the kids' play equipment etc, so the essential maintenance is obviously ongoing.
The park itself is almost always the end of our walk, somewhere (esp on warmer days) to flop down onto the grass, after the knackering climb up the hill from the dene, to catch my breath, and enjoy the stillness.
Its cafe, though small, is clean and welcoming. Can't fault any of it really.
